workshopPRAKS Sustainable Architecture2023 - present
The PRAKS Architecture Workshop provides an opportunity for young architects to gain practical skills and raises awareness of environmentally responsible architecture. We enjoy the experiment and appreciate its value. We choose environmentally friendly materials and processes and think in the spirit of minimizing the new, reusing the existing and recycling the seemingly unnecessary.

The theme of the first edition of the PRAKS architectural workshop was Indian sauna in a barn. The object was realised on a minimal budget and using local materials such as: wood, unfired clay bricks, rammed earth, clay mortar, hay, reused concrete beam.

The workshop is open to 15 students from Slovak and foreign universities who are interested in improving their skills in architecture, construction and design. The workshop lasts 5 days, during which there is a realization of the architectural object, drawing exercises, practical and theoretical lectures with guests from practice. Participants have the opportunity to learn by doing, to try different technologies of working with materials, to work together, to solve difficult problems and to prepare for building reality.
